	Leyland Titan TD4 GCD 48, alongside AUF 670 at Amberley Chalk Pits Museum
	Southdown appeared to favour Leyland chassis for double deck vehicles up to the introduction of Bristol VRTs in the early 1970s. Above is a Leyland PD2/Park Royal with blinds for Southsea Garage. These buses could also be found further east, even making appearances on the long 122 service (joint with M&D) between Brighton, Tunbridge Wells and Gravesend.

	Southdown 603 (TPN103S), a Bristol VRT with ECW convertible open top bodywork new in 1977 and allocated to Brighton, seen at Showbus 2003.
	Southdown had a dubious flirtation with electronic destination displays, as fitted to Bristol VRT/ECW 689 (EAP 989V) seen in Churchill Square, Brighton in August 1985. The bus is working a service 712 journey to Eastbourne via Newhaven and Seaford.
	Southdown decorated Bristol VRT/ECW 276 in a commemorative livery for their 75th anniversary celebrations. The bus is seen at Amberley in 1990
	Southdown 306 is a Volvo B10M with Northern Counties CH43/33F bodywork. This vehicle was one of the last delivered to Southdown before the takeover by Stagecoach and is seen at Amberley in 1990.
