M&D were not particularly enthusiastic about the Leyland National but did purchase a batch of dual purpose examples such as 2903, seen in King Street, Maidstone on 26 July 1989 with a service 5 working to Hawkhurst. |

M&D purchased a batch of ECW bodied Leyland Olympians originally intended for Devon General. 5889 (A889 PKR) is seen at Hastings Station in the spring of 1983 with a service 4 journey from Maidstone. |

M&D acquired a number of GMT Leyland Atlanteans with standard Northern Counties bodywork after privatisation, which it fitted with destination equipment recovered from withdrawn Daimler Fleetlines. 5733 is seen in Maidstone in April 1991 |
