Mayne are a long established Manchester independent, operating services to
the east of the city. Following deregulation, the company abandoned its
traditional Stevenson Square terminus for Piccadilly and expanded its network.

Mayne had an increased vehicle requirement as it
prepared for deregulation. This ECW bodied Bristol VRT was new in 1978 and
is seen at Piccadilly Bus Station in 1987 with a service for Micklehurst. |

vehicles surplus to requirements following introduction of its post
deregulation network including this Daimler Fleetline with Northern Counties
standard bodywork. GMT's loss was Mayne's gain - former 7474 is seen in
Piccadilly Bus Station in 1987 with a departure for Littlemoss. |

Formerly a Southbus, Mayne Scania N112/East Lancs (E704EFG) in Oldham
Street, a vehicle new to Brighton & Hove in 1986 (as their 704). The bus
seems to be a little vague as to its destination when seen on 21st May 2005. |
