Turnham Green in 2001

The following are a selection of photographs taken around Turnham Green. I decided to visit the area hoping to capture a shot of one of First CentreWest's new Tridents on route 27 (Chalk Farm & Turnham Green). Unfortunately poor weather and low light restricted the number of pictures suitable for display.

Newly delivered TNL960 (X612 HLT) waits at Heathfield Terrace shortly after arriving from Chalk Farm on route 27 (16/2/01)
Another view of Dennis Trident/Plaxton President TNL960. Like other Tridents at Westbourne Park, this has the shorter chassis although it does have a forward staircase (16/2/01).
TNL962 approaches Stamford Brook Bus Garage (19/2/01)
Pending delivering of new Tridents, First CentreWest used Metrobuses displaced from the 18 conversion a year or so earlier. This slightly poor quality image shows a Metrobus in Chiswick High Street heading east (16/2/01).
London United operated route 27 until it was re-tendered in 2000. M1014 (A714THV) is slightly off route due to roadworks as it waits at a temporary terminus in Chiswick High Road in February 2000. This bus has now been withdrawn.
The 267 (Hammersmith & Fulwell) is usually worked by Metrobuses from Fulwell Garage. However, Alexander bodied Volvo Olympians make the occasional appearance, as shown here by London United VA10 at Turnham Green Church (16/2/01).
London United introduced low floor Wright Pathfinder bodied Dennis Lance SLFs on route H91 (Hammersmith & Hounslow West) last year, as shown in this view of LLW3 near Stamford Brook Bus Garage (19/2/01).
London United DR106, a Dennis Dart with Plaxton Pointer body on route H40 (Park Royal & Chiswick) waits in Chiswick High Road on a wet day in February 2000.
Although Turnham Green is no longer served by Routemasters, the terminus of route 94 at Acton Green is nearby. RML2353 waits at the stand in February 2000.
