Brighton Summer

These are a selection of photographs taken in Old Steine, Brighton on June 10th, 2005.

Brighton & Hove 845 (Y845GCD) Queen Charlotte, a Dennis Trident 2 with Plaxton President bodywork new in 2001. The bus is carrying the tan version of Brighton & Hove's livery for Metro service 5 (Hangleton - Patcham/Hollingbury).
Brighton & Hove 829 (W829NNJ) C B Fry, a Dennis Trident 2 with East Lancs bodywork. This vehicle is carrying the most recent version of Brighton & Hove's livery and is working service 7 (Brighton Marina - Hove).
Brighton & Hove 618 (GX03STZ) Danny Sheldon, a Scania N94UD Omnidekka with East Lancs bodywork. The bus is working a service 2 journey from Rottingdean to Shoreham.
Brighton & Hove 813 (T813RFG) Sir Harry Preston, a Dennis Trident 2 with East Lancs bodywork dating from 1999. The bus is nearing the end of a service 14 journey from Newhaven to Churchill Square.
Brighton & Hove 779 (R879HCD), a Scania N113DRB with East Lancs bodywork bound for the Universities at Falmer. Some buses on service 25 carry a green version of this livery - however these are being phased out in favour of a new livery with a more subtle variation for specific routes.
Stagecoach 20829 (P829FVU), a Volvo B10M with Alexander bodywork working a service 17 journey to Horsham via Henfield (service 107 in Southdown days).
Metrobus 247 (R747FGX), a Dennis Dart SLF with Plaxton Pointer bodywork new in 1998. The bus some distance from the Horsham local service it appears to have worked recently.
Brighton & Hove 639 (YN54AOP) Raymond Francis, a Scania N94UD OmniDekka with East Lancs bodywork dating from 2004. The bus is working a 'Coaster' service to Newhaven and Seaford.
Stagecoach 34641 (GX54DWM), a Dennis Dart SLF with Plaxton style bodywork. The bus is bound for an estate to the east of Seaford. Stagecoach have recently announced that their operations in Lewes and Seaford will pass to Brighton & Hove from September 2005.
Brighton & Hove 215 (N215NNJ), a Dennis Dart with Plaxton Pointer bodywork, new in 1996. The bus is working service 56, which runs hourly between Patcham and the Knoll Estate in Hove.
Brighton & Hove 208 (N208NNJ) is from the same batch as 215 (above) and carries the latest version of the red and cream livery. The bus is working a short journey on service 81 (Goldstone Valley - Open Market).
Brighton & Hove 217 (R217HCD), a Volvo B10 with Wright Renown bodywork dating from 1997. The bus is carrying the tan version of Brighton & Hove's original livery for Metro service 5 (Hangleton - Patcham/Hollingbury).
Brighton & Hove 640 (YN54AOR) Graham Greene, a Scania N94UD OmniDekka with East Lancs bodywork. The blank electronic destination is an effect of the camera - the bus is actually working a service 12 journey towards Newhaven.
Brighton & Hove 811 (T811RFG) John Nash, a Dennis Trident 2 with East Lancs bodywork new in 1999. The bus is working a service 27A journey from Hangleton to Saltdean.
Stagecoach 16347 (N347MPN), a Volvo Olympian with Alexander bodywork new in 1996. The bus is near to the end of a service 700 journey from Southsea to Brighton via the coast.
Brighton & Hove 71 (M71CYJ), a Dennis Dart with Plaxton bodywork new in 1995 making it one of the oldest buses in the fleet. The bus is working a service 37 journey from Bristol Estate to Eastbourne Road.
Brighton & Hove 776 (P876VFG), a Scania N113DRB with East Lancs bodywork dating from 1997. The bus is working a service 27A journey from Coombe Vale to Hangleton via the eastern coast road and central Brighton.
Stagecoach 34642 (GX54DWN), a Dennis Dart SLF with Plaxton style bodywork. The bus is near to the end of its service 12 journey from Eastbourne via the coast.
Stagecoach 32456 (N456PAP), a Volvo B10 with Alexander bodywork. The bus is arriving from Ringmer and Lewes on service 28, one the routes which will pass to Brighton & Hove from September 2005.
Brighton & Hove 617 (GX03SSZ), a Scania H94UD Omnidekka with East Lancs open top bodywork. The bus is seen approaching Devil's Dyke on 20th July 2005.
